Consumer Protection  a program of TRIAD, is a collaborative effort between Genesee County Sheriff  Robert Pickell, the Genesee County Prosecutor, and Genesee County Commissioners; along with the Senior Directors Association, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, UAW, AFL-CIO, AARP and Legal Services of Eastern Michigan.

 Our Mission

To protect the citizens of Genesee County by gathering, processing, and investigating consumer complaints, attempting to resolve them.   Investigate consumer fraud for  criminal prosecution by the Genesee County Prosecuting Attorney.  Educate and inform citizens of their consumer rights.  Work closely with other governmental consumer protection agencies.

Consumer Education Presentations

Consumer Protection  has the latest information on scams and fraudulent schemes that bilk people out of millions of dollars annually. At your next meeting, lunch break, or at a time convenient to you, let one of our representatives educate your group on the latest consumer issues. Filing a Complaint

If you have been the victim of a consumer fraud or unfair and deceptive business practice, the Genesee County Consumer Fraud Unit will receive and investigate your complaint and attempt to secure a just resolution to the problem. Please Note: If you are not a Genesee County resident some part of the transaction must have occurred in Genesee County, Michigan.  You may telephone the Consumer Fraud Unit at  (810)-341-5923.
