Commercial Code Filing Information

1. |
All Financing statements &
Security Agreements must be filed with the State of Michigan. |

2. |
All terminations must be signed by
the secured party and must be dated. |
|
3. |
Terminations
must have the original or most recent filing number and date on them or
they will be returned. |

4. |
Our files only contain five
years with the exception of fixture filings. Commercial Code filings are good for a five year period only.
After that they are obsolete. (for filings recorded July 1, 2001
and later, see the
State of
Michigan) |

5. |
Fixture
filings must have
both the original and the secured party and the debtor. Addresses
must be legible. |
|
6. |
Fixture
filings not in Genesee
County will be returned and must be filed in the right county, unless
you request that they are filed here.
Our files will show they were filed upon request. |

7. |
If your check is not signed,
or it is not made out to the Register of Deeds, or is made out for too
much money, it will be returned. We cannot refund on checks. |

8. |
All filings must have a
self-addressed, stamped return envelope or we will return them.* |
|
9. |
Only the Register of
Deeds/Filing Officer sections of form "National UCC1" can be used for filing. Secretary
of State’s section of forms, et cetera, are not acceptable. |

10. |
Xerox copies are not
acceptable unless they are certified copies.
Carbon copies are accepted if signatures are clearly readable. |
|
11. |
Searches are not done over the
phone. |
