Winter is once again approaching and along with it brings the 5th
Annual Bowling 4 Warmth. With fuel costs expecting to increase 21%
this year for home heating, the need for funds to “Keep the HEAT
ON” is greater than ever.
|
|
This year our Bowling 4 Warmth is being held on Saturday January 24th,
2009 at Richfield Bowl located on Richfield Road between Genesee and
Belsay Roads in Flint. Each team is made up of 5 bowlers. Each
bowler is asked to raise pledges in the amount of $35.00 or
greater. Pledge money is due at time of bowling however this year
we are encouraging bowlers to turn in money prior to January 24th
to help alleviate congestion the day of bowling. |
 |
|
You need not be a bowler to participate, all are welcome. The whole
idea is to have a day of fun with friends, co-workers and family
while doing something worth while for the community.
|
 |
Sign up starts on
December 1st 2008 though January 16th 2009.
We provide each bowler with a “Bowling 4 Warmth” shirt, free shoe
rental if needed, 1 game of bowling and a certificate of
appreciation. |
Bowling 4 Warmth is
being held in cooperation with Walk for Warmth which is a statewide
effort to promote awareness for people experiencing heat related
emergencies and advocate and raise funds on their behalf. There are
20 other Community Action Agencies such as Genesee County CARD
hosting a Walk for Warmth in the month February. All monies raised
in Genesee County help Genesee County residents. |
