Fun and interesting facts about recycling.

 

Borrow Our Bins...  (request form) (sample one page agreement)

Your commitment to recycling shouldn't end when you leave your home.  The Genesee County Metropolitan Planning Commission will deliver recycling receptacles for you to use during your next community event.  This is a FREE service.  Hundreds of pounds of  material have been collected and recycled through the "Borrow Our Bins' program.    Some of this recycled material can now be processed into new products such as fleece, carpet, children's toys, stuffing for pet beds and pillows, water bottles and more.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)

List of disposal locations, and tips for disposing of household hazardous waste including: batteries, motor oil, metals, tires, Freon, pesticides, mercury containing  equipment, and old propane tanks.  This list is maintained by Michigan State University Extension of Genesee County.

 

Landfill Prohibited Materials

Certain Items are prohibited from being disposed on in Michigan landfills.  Some of these may surprise you, are you complying with Michigan laws?
