The State of

Transportation Asset Management Council
PASER Survey of Lapeer County
Project overview:
Act 499 of the Public Acts of 2002 created the Transportation Asset Management Council (TAMC) comprised of professionals from County Road Commissions, Commissioners, Cities, Townships, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) Regional, and Metropolitan Planning Organizations. P.A. 499 amended Section 9(a) of the Public Acts of 1951 and identified a strategic asset management process for the State of Michigan's roads and bridges. The new process will be one that is "an ongoing process of maintaining, upgrading and operating transportation assets cost-effectively, and based on a continuous physical inventory and condition assessment".
GLS Region V staff along with representatives of the Lapeer County Road Commission (LCRC) and the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) assessed the condition of Lapeer County federal aid eligible roads using the PASER road rating system as requested by the State of Michigan Asset Management Council.
