REQUESTING A COPY OF COURT PROCEEDINGS The term, court proceedings, refers to any action, hearing, inquest or inquiry in which testimony or other evidence may be presented. Copies of publically accessible court proceedings are available in the form of a transcript or CD/DVD. Requests for Written Transcripts Request for a transcript from the Genesee County Circuit and Probate Courts can be made by calling the Transcript Request Line (810) 424-4454. An automated attendant will direct inquiries to the appropriate official court record manager for the assigned judge. Messages will be retrieved on a daily basis. Attorneys or other persons seeking to purchase a transcript will be contacted by the official court record manager to discuss cost and delivery of transcripts. CD/DVD Requests The record of courtroom proceedings is obtained by a digital recording system. A CD or DVD copy may be purchased, by submitted the necessary form. Click here for a copy of a videotape copy/transcript form. There is a $30.00 fee per request. The fee must be paid at the Office of the Genesee County Clerk, 900 S. Saginaw St., Room 202, Flint, MI 48502. The completed form and payment must be submitted before the request will be honored. The Clerk will forward the request to the Court Technology Coordinator. Once the copy has been made, the purchaser will be contacted for pickup. By Order of the Chief Judge, broadcasting of courtroom proceedings, without the written permission of the court, by television, cable, internet or by any other means is strictly prohibited. Violation may result in a fine, confiscation of materials, incarceration or any combination thereof for contempt of court.
